The Sound Beginnings Children's Hearing Aid Program offers Quota International service clubs in the United States the opportunity to distribute up to 100 vouchers for free hearing aids supplied by Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc., to qualified applicants—children who are:

  • Age birth through 17 years and reside in the United States.

  • Diagnosed with hearing loss by a licensed audiologist.

  • From a family whose income is below to 50% above the federal poverty level, or family income is above current poverty guidelines, but special circumstances put the family in need of assistance.

  • Not covered by public or private health insurance OR covered by an insurance policy that does not cover the cost of hearing aids.

Quota International of Kent Valley was able to secure free hearing aids to two applicants.

Dylan Weinberger is a 17 year old from Federal Way.  He was just recently diagnosed with bilateral mild conductive hearing loss.  His school district audiologist, Ginny Davis, worked with Quota of Kent Valley and his family to secure his new hearing aids.

Yash Pillay was born premature in March 2008 and spent 4-1/2 months in NICU.  He has profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.  Pediatric audiologist, Lisa Mancl, of the University of Washington, recommended Yash to Kent Valley.
